I have always despised big, hulking SUVs. Well, that’s not completely true. I don’t mind when they’re used for sports or utility. More accurately, I hate when people use SUVs to commute to office jobs.
These people like gas-guzzling SUVs because they sit higher and can see the road better, and feel safer (in case of a crash). Unfortunately, the illusion that you’re cozy in your living room doesn’t improve driving skills.

The great thing about electric cars, JoAnn, is they cost much less to run that gas-powered cars. I have several friends in New Zealand with secondhand electric cars and they swear by them. Japan (which also has right hand drive) is a great source of secondhand electric cars. My friends were able to buy them for $US 10,000 – 20,000. This is a great bargain when you consider how cheap they are to run.
