Many have long suspected the propaganda role Hollywood plays in promoting the interest of the US military industrial intelligence complex. Now there’s proof. The latest documents released by Wikileaks reveal some uncomfortable – yet unsurprising – truths about the relationship between Hollywood and the US Government. In its propaganda efforts against both Russia, the US State Department may have pressured Sony – and some of the biggest stars – into cooperating.As Wikileaks notes, Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton is also on the board of trustees for the RAND Corporation, a research arm of the US military. According to the leaked emails, the State Department may have taken advantage of Lynton’s dual positions to further its own propaganda aims.
In one email, Lynton provided a list of other Hollywood executives likely to cooperate with Obama’s propaganda efforts. This included senior level management from Turner Broadcasting and Walt Disney International.
Other emails suggest that Lynton was also asked to pressure Hollywood celebrities into promoting foreign policy objectives of the Obama administration.
Celebrities suggested by Lynton include George Clooney, Kerry Washington, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, as well as major filmmakers like David Fincher and Steven Spielberg.

The latest Wikileaks release includes thousands of documents which reveal ties between the White House and Sony pictures. It’s taking journalists a long time to comb through the weeds, but some troubling details are emerging.

Great link, Ron (below). When I lived in the UK in the 1970s, I married a man who used to hang around bus stations procuring runaway boys for Members of Parliament. This official pedophilia seemed to be well-known and condoned in political circles by members of the media. This stuff has been going on a long time.

Among the few Mericans who are not still brainwashed and asleep, it is a well known fact that Hollywood is, and always has been, used by the government as a device for mind-controlling the people and pandering misinformation, just as it is with television.
I have watched countless movies from the thirties and forties, and even the comedies and musicals were used for government propaganda, misinformation and mind control. And during my life, this manipulation has become even more successful than it had been with my parents and their generation.
So this is no surprise to any of us who have awakened to this illusion/delusion, which unfortunately, most Mericans are still choosing to exist in.
I watched an interview with Truman Capote many years ago. And Capote claimed that most Hollywood stars were “stupid’ and thus “easily manipulated.” What should we expect from people who spend most of their lives pretending to be someone they are not?
Everything dealing with this country revolves around lying and manipulating!

I really like your point about government getting more and more effective at brainwashing and mind controlling us. I suspect this relates mainly to their reliance on psychologists as advisers.

Someone needs to invent the “Hollywood B.S. detector App”, and make it available for $1. Politics is just a big popularity contest, there is nothing of substance, politicians create problems and then take credit for solving the “problem” they themselves created. I remember seeing some cartoons from the late 30’s that were clearly anti German, Japanese and Russian propaganda, I had saved the links, but they have all been taken off YT, I should have made copies of these “still famous” cartoon series so I could repost under the right to quote at some point. A Hollywood BS detector would be invaluable. I’ve been aware for 30 years that the government and the media lie to me (constantly), but I’ve only recently realized they lie about EVERYTHING.
